  1. with posts like this how long before we give up the newspaper?!!

  2. Deborah Lipp Says:

Well, obviously the newspaper is necessary for inspiration.

  3. I thought Alison Doody was good for that…oh you said insipration…never mind

  4. Boromir006 Says:

Hey, you left out Melina Havelock (FYEO) who was apparently a marine biologist or some other kind of underwater research scientist, following in her father’s footsteps.

  5. Ooh yeah..good catch..Melina was a beautiful Bond girl and a good shot with the whole cross-bow, spear-gun thing.

  6. Deborah Lipp Says:

You’re right, I did. I guess because we never knew what her profession was. Other than being good with a crossbow and having a thirst for revenge, we know nothing about her personal life or interests.

  7. Boromir006 Says:

At one point her father asks her if she’s between jobs. Given that she seems to know all about underwater exploration (apart from Bond having to explain to her what air mixture will be required at a particular depth… sheesh) I just assumed she was following in her father’s footsteps.

  8. Deborah Lipp Says:

You’re probably right, Boromir006. My intention with the list was to show Bond girls whose career or interests were emphasized or important to the plot, but I should add Melina.

  9. How about those minor Bond girls that make brief appearances but look good doing so? (This is what a Valentines Day gift of the UEs will do for you). I’m thinking Dr Warmflash, Ms Smallbone (OP) and Jenny Flex. Any others?

  10. Deborah Lipp Says:

Dr. Warmflash is listed. I tend to disqualify Moneypenny as a “Bond girl” and since Miss Smallbone was originally intended as a Moneypenny replacement, I didn’t include her.

In the ’90s, Professor Bergstrom and Caroline are both exactly that sort of minor Bond girl, and both are listed.
