Raymond Benson’s successor chosen

It seems a new Bond novel is coming out:

“Devil May Care,” a novel written by British author Sebastian Faulks and authorized by the estate of the late Ian Fleming, is due to come out in 2008, the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group said Tuesday.

Faulks is probably best known as the author of Charlotte Gray, which was made into a movie with Cate Blanchett in the title role.

This won’t be a successor to Raymond Benson’s novels. Oh, no; this is the definitive cap-off to Ian Fleming’s premier batch of novels. Devil May Care is going to follow directly off The Man with the Golden Gun.

James Bond is back… in the ’60s!

Thanks for the correction, you’re completely right.
